Defining 'Junior Military Officer'

When a student graduates from one of the service academies (West Point, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, Coast Guard Academy) or graduates from a traditional university and was in ROTC, he or she owes the military 3-5 years immediately as an Officer. Their experiences during that time may include:

Relocation 2-3 times

Extensive travel

An average work week of 60-70 hours

Direct supervision of 20-200 people

Accountability for millions of dollars of equipment, with total responsibility for maintenance, safety and operation

Project management responsibility in areas such as systems integration, network administration, new equipment fielding, acquisitions, budgeting, manpower planning and training
